How ’bout them Cowboys!

The Cowboys soundly defeated the Eagles 34-14 to win their first playoff game since 1996. This is their 2nd victory over the Eagles in as many weeks and their 3rd victory over the Eagles this season.

With Marion Barber sidelined early, Felix Jones had a monster of a game with 16 rushes for 148 yards, 1 reception for 30 yards, and 2 kick returns for 29 yards.

Minnesota is next. That looks to be a much tougher game.

Cowboys Blow Out The Raiders 24-7

How ’bout those Cowboys!

The Cowboys move to 8-3 and remain in control of the NFC East after a blow-out win over the lowly Raiders. They had lots of big plays and the running game looked great. Thanksgiving is alway better when the Cowboys win.

Who’d Have Guessed?

Would you ever have guessed that Nate Newton is Tre Newton’s father? Aside from the same last name, of course.

Tre looks like an athlete. Nate looks like a football playing Santa Claus. I’m not saying Nate’s not great, because he is. He helped Emmitt Smith to become the all-time leading rusher, Troy Aikman to make the Hall of Fame, and the Dallas Cowboys to win 3 out of 4 straight Super Bowls (92, 93, & 95) with an NFC Championship Game appearance in between. Not bad for a fat guy.

Nope, I don’t see the similarity.

How ’bout Them Cowboys ?!

The Cowboys topped the Redskins 7-6 today in what can only be described as the worst football game I’ve watched all year. The Cowboys were terrible and if not for a few missed field goals by the Redskins, they would have lost.

But they’re 7-3 now and leading the NFC East, so I’ll take it.

The End of an Era, Goodbye Texas Stadium

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

The final Cowboys game has been played at Texas Stadium. They lost and it looks like they’re not going to make the playoffs. Another disappointing season from a team loaded with talent. But I digress.

I love the Cowboys but hated Texas Stadium. Never-the-less, there were many great moments that took place there. My most recent experiences there involved touring the stadium and seeing Marshall Faulk’s final game (1st row, 50-yard line – it was AWESOME!).
